Sid Marty — A Retrospective
When the Banff Mountain Book Festival debuted in 1994, Sid Marty was the first guest to step on stage, opening an event that would soon become internationally renowned. This fall, Marty returns to the spotlight to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Book Festival with a look back on 15 (and more!) years of inspiring mountain stories and songs, selected from eight published books, and two CDs.

Lynn Martel — Expedition to the Edge
Lynn Martel has interviewed dozens of self-propelled adventurers. In her first book, Expedition to the Edge — Stories of Worldwide Adventure, she has assembled 59 compelling and entertaining stories that capture the exploits, hardships, fears, and personal insights of a who’s who of contemporary adventurers.

Voices of Adventure — Geoff Powter interviews Michael Kennedy
Local psychologist and climber Geoff Powter interviews Michael Kennedy. Between climbing trips that established him as one of the leading alpinists of his generation, Kennedy edited and published Climbing magazine, which he crafted into the world’s premier climbing publication.

Bernadette McDonald — Tomaž Humar
Bernadette McDonald has led a life full of adventure and encounters with remarkable mountaineers. Her latest book, Tomaž Humar, is the gripping story of one of the world’s most notorious alpine climbers.

Panelists include Calgary-based Nima Dorjee, Ed Douglas, Banff-based Karen McDiarmid, and Losang Rabgey.
