Banff and Canmore Students to Share Nepal Adventures

High school students in Banff and Canmore can’t wait to share their recent travel experiences with the Bow Valley audience. On February 10, they will present their Mountain to Mountain project in the Max Bell Auditorium at The Banff Centre. The project was supported in part by a grant from The Banff Centre for Mountain Culture, which will be hosting the presentation.

The evening will focus on the students’ October, 1999 trip to the Khumbu region of Nepal. While there, they undertook a range of projects and spent time with Sherpa students.

Many of the students feel that the Mountain to Mountain Project has changed their perspectives. "My trip to Nepal made me realize that in order to achieve my dreams I have to take chances and even extend my boundaries," says Banff student Sarah Hutchison.

The students will present their projects on Thursday, February 10, 2000, at 7:30 p.m., in the Max Bell Auditorium, The Banff Centre. Tickets are available in advance from The Banff Centre for Mountain Culture, Banff Community High School, and Canmore Collegiate, or at the door.
