Banff Mountain Film Festival Begins Global Journey

Over 1400 eager outdoor enthusiasts packed the Great Falls Civic Centre on the first evening of the 2003/2004 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour in Great Falls, Montana, U.S.A. The event kicked off a year-long journey that will take the world's best mountain films to more than 20 countries around the world.

The 28th annual Banff Mountain Film Festival concluded on November 9th in Banff with the announcement of the festival awards. Only three days later, festival staff hit the road to begin the North American portion of the festival world tour with shows in three separate locations in two countries on the first night.

The tour will visit over 185 locations across Canada and the United States, stretching from Alaska to Atlanta, and from Newfoundland to San Diego. Internationally the 2003/04 World Tour will touch down on six continents. Screenings will be held worldwide from India to Iceland, including a Latin America program that will stop in seven countries including Colombia, Ecuador, and Argentina.
