Wanda Burdett

Wanda (Maynard) Burdett was born and grew up in the community of Norris Point, in the heart of Gros Morne National Park of Canada. After earning a bachelor of science (biology) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1997, she began working at Gros Morne as a research assistant. In 1999, Wanda trained as a Parks Canada warden, and returned to Gros Morne to resume her career. During her time in Gros Morne, she has worked in the positions of park warden, environmental assessment coordinator, and land-use specialist before assuming her current position. Wanda and her husband, Blaine, have one son Thomas.
