Dave Verhulst

Dave Verhulst is executive director of the Mountain Parks Heritage Interpretation Association (MPHIA). He holds a masters degree in recreation management from Acadia University. Dave’s academic and professional interests focus on understanding the importance of high-quality training for interpreters and how an interdisciplinary perspective on the stories we use to interpret place can promote an understanding of our interrelationship with nature.

Dave has worked in Temagami, Jasper, Dinosaur Provincial Park, and Banff as a guide and interpreter. He has experience in both the public and private sector guiding and is an enthusiastic naturalist, Nordic skier, paddler, and hiker.
