THE CAMPAIGN FOR
THE BANFF CENTRE

Inspiring Creativity. Fostering Leadership.

Canada and Alberta need creative, inspired people to lead every sector of society. For almost 75 years, The Banff Centre has nurtured those leaders.

Banff Centre alumni head Canada’s arts and cultural institutions, organizations, and businesses. They create and perform exceptional works of art across our country, and around the globe.

The Campaign for The Banff Centre will ensure that this proud legacy continues.

Phase One of the Revitalization Project will include:

  • a $20 million enhancement to the Centre’s programming, endowments, and scholarships.
  • Learning Building: a major new facility to replace Donald Cameron Hall, this centre will include multidisciplinary learning and rehearsal spaces; the Paul D. Fleck Library & Archives; and an internet café and lounges. A magnificent new outdoor performance amphitheatre will be created below the Learning Building.
  • Dining Centre: adding two storeys to the Sally Borden Building, the Dining Centre (opening this July), includes participant and staff dining areas, new kitchen facilities, and an à la carte restaurant and wine bar.
  • Campus Greening: the project will create a more integrated campus by improving pathways and wayfinding, restoring natural landscapes, and closing the St. Julien Road through-road.

Phase Two of the Revitalization Project will include major improvements to the Theatre Complex and Glyde Hall, the creation of an Aboriginal programming and cultural space, two additional Heritage Chalets, and the renewal and expansion of the Leighton Artists' Colony.

The Campaign for The Banff Centre will build a world-class centre for creativity, innovation, and leadership.

Through the Revitalization project, the Campaign will create multidisciplinary state-of-the-art facilities that will result in some of the most intensive and innovative learning opportunities in the world.

It includes scholarships and programming that will enable Canadian leaders to share knowledge, to push boundaries, and to create and showcase new work.

INSPIRED DINING

Times have changed! Space was tight and views were limited in The Banff Centre’s first dining room in the basement of the Masonic Hall on Bear Street, 1942.

Since the Centre’s beginnings in 1933, a fundamental part of the Banff experience has been the opportunity to break bread with extraordinary leaders from many sectors of society. Dining together encourages active dialogue, new friendships, and time to get to know other Banff guests and participants.

This July, the new Dining Centre — the first project in Phase One of Banff Centre Revitalization — opens. Perched atop the Sally Borden Building, the new Vistas Dining Room and the Three Ravens Restaurant & Wine Bar will offer all program participants and guests truly inspirational dining.
