“There are certain qualities of the highly creative people I know. One is a kind of creative optimism. They believe in inventing the world.”
– Designer Bruce Mau,
in the Banff Dialogues
The Kinnear Centre for Creativity & Innovation will feature flexible learning and meeting rooms with state-of-the art audio visual equipment, innovative rehearsal and performance spaces, and informal gallery areas to showcase the results of the Centre’s creative programs. Rooms will be adaptable to meet participant’s needs. Each of the building’s three levels will have casual lounge areas with outdoor space, overlooking the expanse of the Bow Valley.
The centre will become the new home of the Paul D. Fleck Library & Archives, showcasing the Centre’s rich history and improving access to the libraries’ learning resources. It will also offer an internet café and pub, and business centre. Abundant windows will bring natural beauty inside.
The new Kinnear Centre for Creativity & Innovation will be built immediately adjacent to the present Donald Cameron Hall, allowing the Centre to continue offering exceptional service throughout the construction period, with minimal impact on conference guests and participants.
