Opportunities for Alberta Artists
The Banff Centre has a longstanding connection with Alberta artists. Founded in 1933 by the University of Alberta’s Department of Extension, The Banff Centre has welcomed tens of thousands of Albertans to its programs over the past 70 years. Our alumni are leaders in communities across Alberta and in communities around the world. Today, over 1,000 Alberta artists come to the Centre every year to pursue their creative and professional development.
We are pleased to offer the following program for Alberta artists:
Self-Directed Residencies for Alberta Artists
By providing the time and space for focused work, these residencies provide an ideal opportunity to realize a self-directed project.
Alberta Creative Development Initiative Grants
The Canada Council for the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts have announced grant funding for Alberta artists, through the Alberta Creative Development Initiative (ACDI), to enable research, creation, production, and professional development including residencies.
