Founded in 2002 by a group of musicians variously from Vancouver, South Korea, New York, and Philadelphia, the Koryo Quartet was chosen to represent Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music as part of the Institute’s 80th anniversary celebration. They were also recently chosen to perform at the Dean’s Choice recital in the Institute’s Field Concert Hall. Mentored by members of the Guarneri, Orion, and Miami string quartets, the Koryo was invited in 2002, 2003, and 2004 to the Music from Angel Fire Festival in New Mexico.
