Winners of the 2004 Kunstprijs, the Kersjes van de Groenekan Award in 2004, and the 2003 Almere Chamber Music Award, the Rubens Quartet was founded in 2000 at the Dutch String Quartet Academy. Their recent performances have included debuts in London, Berlin, Nice, and at the Rotterdam Gergiev Festival. They were also included in the Dutch concert tour for young artists, Het Debuut, and have performed for the past three years at the Luberon International String Quartet Festival in Roussillon, France.
