Call for Entries

It’s time for our 15th annual Banff Mountain Photography Competition – and we’re looking for your best mountain images.

Show us why you’re passionate about mountain places – the scenery, the ecology, and the adventures.

The competition is open to all, worldwide. Winners will share in cash prizes and gifts from our sponsors, totalling over $4000. In addition, the winning photographs will be exhibited at The Banff Centre, on our website and on a whirlwind tour at select locations.

In 2009, we opened up the competition to digital image files for the first time. The environmental savings are enormous – no chemical processing of film; no chemically treated papers; no packaging or transport of paper prints – a huge saving of materials, resources and costs. Much of the impetus for moving to digital has come from the photographers themselves, and 95% of our entrants in 2009 took advantage of this method. Now that the competition has taken this leap into the digital world, we would like to continue the momentum, and invite you to send us your best shots!
