Marilyn Dumont and Daniel David read alongside writers and storytellers in residence at The Banff Centre. An award-winning Alberta writer of Cree/ Métis ancestry, Marilyn Dumont is working on a book that explores Métis history, politics, and identity through her notable ancestral descendant, Gabriel Dumont. Award-winning Mohawk writer, storyteller, and journalist Daniel David’s work has led to a variety of prestigious posts around the world including Denmark, Indonesia, and South Africa.

Features award-winning writer, teacher, and gifted orator Lee Maracle alongside writers and storytellers in residence. Lee Maracle, of Salish and Cree ancestry, is a member of the Stó:lö Nation in British Columbia. She is one of the first Aboriginal writers to be published in Canada and is the author of critically acclaimed literary works including Sojourner’s and Sundogs, Ravensong, Bobbi Lee, Daughters Are Forever, Will’s Garden, Bent Box, and I Am Woman.
