History Skip is an original three act musical developed by Precipice Theatre with senior high students from Banff and Canmore. The play is set in a high school and inspired by Ronald Wright’s powerful and provocative book A Short History of Progress. The play explores deeply the western myth of progress and the many social and ecological challenges that face our future generations through various historical vignettes, music and movement. The production uses music and song from iconic Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman. This workshop production has been in development since 2007 and makes its world premiere at The Banff Centre.
