Eric Bibb has been around the
world and back, paying his dues and absorbing musical
influences. From Africa, through Europe, to the Mississippi
Delta, this acoustic guitarist and singer appears to be heir to
the roots-blues throne created by Taj Mahal. Born in New York in
1951, and now based in Sweden, Eric was exposed to a broad
spectrum of music, primarily the blues genre but also dipping
into Gospel, folk and country. Following an impressive
performance at the London Blues Festival in 1996, he was
recognized for his unique brand of acoustic blues and was seen
as an

artist of international calibre. His career took off and
he’s been touring ever since, performing all over the world,
appearing on TV and radio shows, receiving a Grammy nomination
and releasing six superb albums. Mixing traditional and original
material, these recordings illustrate his wide ranging musical
influences. But Eric’s natural environment is live on stage. A
performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience, both
musically and spiritually, purveying a beautifully realized and
deftly accomplished, soulful and Gospel infused, folk country
blues.
