At only 24, he's already being
hailed as "the new king of boogie-woogie". And why not? Michael
was born to play this music. Exuding energy and drive as he
pounds 88 keys into overdrive, his hands fly and his fingers
blur, until you can't tell where they end and the keys begin. He
delights with a dizzying variety of formats and repertoire
ranging from Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman to Hank Williams
to Thelonious Monk, as well as with his original compositions.
With a host of accolades and honours, and with a new album out,
Michael, with fellow musicians Simon Fisk on bass and Damian
Graham on drums, returns for what will surely be another
dynamic, charismatic, and roof-raising concert featuring an
unforgettable mix of boogie-woogie, jazz, and rhythm and blues.
