Amber-Dawn Bear Robe
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Bear Robe studied as a visual fibre artist at The Alberta College of Art & Design, receiving her bachelor of fine arts in 1996. Utilizing contemporary beadwork, fibres and mixed media, she composed traditional Blackfoot imagery within contemporary context, exploring the relationship between the past and present of Aboriginal culture. She has exhibited works in various galleries in British Columbia and Alberta, notably an installation in a group exhibition, Revisit, Recall - New Meanings Echo the Past, at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary. Most recently, she curated an exhibition at the Glenbow Museum called LOGOINDIAN featuring Kevin McKenzie.
