about Digital Film and Media
about Digital Film and Media
Fundamental to Film and Media at The Banff Centre is the belief that the creative sector flourishes through collaboration, and that the links and tensions across art, technology, science, and research have a critical role to play in describing new ways to see the world, participating in contemporary cultures, and shaping the future. We feature a multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural environment where practices and people converge. Film and Media programs support innovation, experimentation, risk taking, and extend the creative potential of digital media production and post production. In addition to offering a unique internship-style work study program, programming and residencies run throughout the year.
Film and Media supports all Banff Centre arts programs, including a variety of artist residencies, media, and technology needs. With our campus partners, we encourage relationships with other universities and institutions in the area of digital communication, and will continue to build strong ties with industry partners in new media, digital media research, audio, film, video, and broadcast television.
