EPCOR CEO Don Lowry appointed to Banff Centre Board of Governors

Philip G. Ponting, chair of the Board of Governors of The Banff Centre, is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Lowry to the Board of Governors of The Banff Centre.

President and chief executive officer of Edmonton-based EPCOR, Lowry has led the company through its transformation into a national energy company, doubling its earnings and assets in three years. Prior to joining EPCOR, he spent more than 20 years in telecommunications, including six years as president and CEO of Telus Communications Inc.

A graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) and an MBA, Lowry is also a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program and the Banff School of Management. He serves on several boards, including those of SaskTel, Hydrogenics Corporation, the Canadian Electrical Association, and Alberta Climate Change Central.
