Don’t let the standard dark suits, white shirts, and ties fool you, The Chucky Danger Band, although serious about first-class presentation, deliver a fresh high-energy pop/rock performance complete with outstanding stage craft and showmanship. Made up of four gifted musicians from PEI, the well-traveled band has a growing list of original songs that touch on themes of hope, humour, angst, love, and inner struggle. The Chucky Danger Band will play The Banff Centre’s Margaret Greenham Theatre on Saturday, November 11, as part of The Banff Centre’s fall 2006 Playbill Series.

Bringing audiences to their feet, The Chucky Danger Band is receiving rave reviews for their melody-driven pop and precision harmonies. A highlight of the young band’s performance includes the track Silent Stars harmonized beautifully by the siblings in the band, John and Rob MacPhee. Along with innovative lead guitar by Colin Buchanan and percussion by Dave Macdonald, The Chucky Danger Band also throws in a handful of onstage surprises that have included rock and roll backbeats, sprinklings of samba, and tastes of funk.

Since their debut at the East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) in 2005, The Chucky Danger Band has been riding a wave of popularity. A host of successful performances throughout the Maritimes, their debut CD colour, and a win at the PEI Music Awards for Entertainer of the Year, were all topped off by the band winning Pop Recording of the Year at the 2006 ECMAs.

The Banff Centre’s fall 2006 Playbill Series continues with the James Keelaghan Trio (November 12), Valdy & Gary Fjellgaard (November 17), Banff Players: A Doll’s House (November 24 and 25), and Xavier Rudd (November 26).

Tickets for all Banff Centre events are available through The Banff Centre Box Office: 1-800-413-8368 or 403-762-6301.
