Banff Centre receives “Presenter of the Year” award

The Banff Centre has been recognized as “Presenter of the Year” by the Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA). The award recognizes excellence and achievement in the presentation of touring performances. CAPACOA is Canada’s network of performing arts touring professionals, including artists, agents, facility managers, theatre service organizations, marketers, and impresarios.

The award was received on behalf of the Centre by Kurt Bagnell, manager of presentations, at the CAPACOA conference in New Brunswick, November 4. “It was most gratifying and extremely meaningful to receive this award from CAPACOA”, commented Bagnell. “The award recognizes The Banff Centre’s contribution to the presentation of touring artists in Canada and the development of the touring industry, as well as our dedication to innovative and progressive programming, and our contribution to our community and audience.” “The award is also a testament to the unwavering support and appreciation of Bow Valley audiences, given the unique nature and size of our community.”

The Banff Centre Playbill Series has been bringing the best live arts and entertainment to the Bow Valley for 25 years. Primarily a music series, the Playbill Series also features dance, theatre, story-telling, multi-cultural events, and performances for young audiences. It offers the Bow Valley a unique mix of events each year, while at the same time complementing The Banff Centre’s arts training mandate.
