The music business is all about impact and according to critics and fans alike The Chucky Danger Band is delivering just that. With brilliant songwriting, an infectious sound, and rare presence and charisma, the young pop/rock band from PEI has been making a strong and immediate impression since their start in 2004. Sporting their trademark tailored black suits and ties, The Chucky Danger Band will play the Margaret Greenham Theatre on Saturday, September 29, as part of The Banff Centre’s fall 2007 Playbill Series.
The members of The Chucky Danger Band are exemplary ambassadors of the new emerging face of young Canadian musicians. The group is a dynamic combination of songwriter, acoustic guitar, and lead vocal John MacPhee; songwriter, bass, and back up vocal Rob MacPhee; lead guitar, maracas, kazoo, and back up vocal Colin Buchanan; and drums, percussion, and vocal Dave Macdonald.
The success of the band’s debut CD colour has been recognized with a win at the 2006 East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) for Best Pop Recording of the Year (6-pack), a chance to perform on the national TV broadcast of the awards ceremony, and three 2007 ECMA nominations for NEWCAP Radio Rock Recording of the Year, Group Recording of the Year, and Single of the Year (Marching Machine).
