Get Cultured! Banff Culture Walk celebrates its second year with a weekend of inspired events

Banff’s art galleries, museums and other cultural institutions have joined together to make the weekend of September 25th and 26th a weekend for art, fun and discovery. Throughout the weekend, Banff Culture Walk venues will present artists demonstrations, opening receptions, artist talks, theatre, tours, readings, dancing, singing, and refreshments. Visitors can pick up a walking tour map to guide them to all the participating destinations in and around Banff.

Banff has a historical connection to the arts — through the Aboriginal traditions that have been present here for centuries, the historical visits of artists commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway from the late 1800s, and the establishment of The Banff Centre over 70 years ago. Local businesses have since flourished due to the appetite of visitors for unique original artworks from and about the region. This history also reflects that Banff has long been home to many well-known artists who remain an important part of the community.

Everyone is welcome. Participating venues are open to the public year round; some may charge admission. The Banff Culture Walk Trail Guide Brochure is available throughout the year at the Information Centre at 224 Banff Avenue and at the following participating locations:

  • Aura Banff Gallery
  • The Town of Banff
  • Canada House Gallery
  • Harmon Gallery
  • About Canada

  • Canada Place
