An evening with Kuerti and Brandis!

Music & Sound at The Banff Centre presents Anton Kuerti (piano, Canada) and Thomas Brandis (violin, Germany) in collaboration with resident musicians, on stage in Rolston Recital Hall on Friday, February 25 at 7:30 pm.

Pianist Anton Kuerti is one of today’s most recorded artists. In Canada, Kuerti has played repeatedly with every orchestra, including some 30 concerts with the Toronto Symphony and four tours with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. He has given recitals and chamber music performances from coast to coast, and is heard regularly on CBC not only as a pianist, but also as a commentator, conductor and composer.

Violinist Thomas Brandis is one of the most well-known musicians in Germany. He performs with a number of prominent musicians in different chamber music configurations. He teaches is programs all over the world, is a frequent juror at national and international competitions and has dedicated himself to furthering the next generation of German chamber musicians.

Also in concert this week are individual recitals by some of the winter residency musicians. On Wednesday, February 23 at noon in Rolston Recital Hall, be treated to a moving performance of Rachmaninoff by cellist Nigel Edmonton-Boehm (Canada) and pianist Jamie Syer (Canada). At 4:30 pm in the Chamber Music Room, hear some incredible trumpet tunes by Stuart Krause (Canada). Thursday, February 24 at 4:30 pm in the Chamber Music Room, Jeff Meyer (USA) will be performing solo piano works and Andree Martin (Canada) and Paul Vaillancourt (Canada) will be treating listeners to duo works for flute and percussion.

Evening concert tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $6 for concert lovers. Canmore Sunday, noon hour, and afternoon concerts are pay-what-you-can. For further details or tickets, please call The Banff Centre Box Office at 762-6301.
