The Winter Concert Season at The Banff Centre
continues in March with some great musical performances. Come and join us and warm your
soul with some wonderful music!
Wednesday, March 1, hear the jazz stylings of the Mike Webster Quintet (Canada) and the
Anne Dueholm & Henrik Kunz Duo (Denmark) at noon in Rolston Recital Hall. If more jazz
is what you need, the Mike Webster Quintet performs every Wednesday night (until March 15)
from 9-11 pm in the Sally Borden lounge at The Banff Centre – a great spot with a
cozy, social atmosphere.
The Friday evening series continues in March with performances to suit all tastes. Friday,
March 3 will feature a variety of music by the winter residency musicians. On Friday,
March 10, Canadian cellist Antonio Lysy will perform in collaboration with Music &
Sound residents. The last Friday evening concert of the season will take place on March
17, and features Calgary’s ensemble 4 with percussionists Rod Thomas Squance and
Micheal Schuett, and the Bergmann Piano Duo (Elizabeth & Marcel Bergmann). They will
present a concert of light classics with an exotic flavour arranged for two pianos and
percussion by members of the group.
Canmore Sundays continue until March 12 at the Canmore Collegiate High School Theatre.
These informal concerts are hosted by artistic director Isobel Moore Rolston and begin at
2:30 pm.
Evening concert tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $6 for
concert lovers. Canmore Sunday, noon hour, and afternoon concerts are pay-what-you-can.
