Piano and Voice in Concert
A
celebration of the enduring beauty of the piano and the voice

Piano and Voice in Concert performances are a result of two programs: our newest program in Music & Sound, Song in Collaboration; and Keyboard Festival at The Banff Centre. Song in Collaboration is a program designed specifically for pianists working with singers. Their concerts feature repertoire for voice and piano, and occasionally collaboration with other instrumentalists. The repertoire is non-operatic, focusing instead on art songs (for solo voice and piano).

Song In Collaboration is a new program by the Music & Sound department of The Banff Centre, designed for singers and pianists (duos or individuals) who are committed to exploring repertoire for voice and piano. Program musicians are coached individually and together by Iain Burnside and Edith Wiens. Round table discussions are scheduled on such topics as career structures, recital presentation, and the business of music. Where appropriate, there is also collaboration with instrumentalists; all public performances are recorded.

Keyboard Festival welcomes 45 pianists from all over the world to work with renowned pedagogues Marc Durand, Julian Martin, and Kevin Fitz-Gerald. Both programs run from July 22 to August 2, during which time the musicians will be entertaining audiences in a series of concerts for voice and piano. Don’t miss the talent!

These dates include musicians from both programs:
