Bernadette McDonald and Norbert Meier appointed vice-presidents, The Banff Centre
Dr. Graeme McDonald, president and CEO of The Banff Centre, has
appointed Bernadette McDonald and Norbert Meier to vice-president positions for the
Centre. Bernadette McDonald, currently director of the Banff Centre for Mountain Culture,
has been with the Centre for 12 years, joining as director of the Banff Mountain Film
Festival. Norbert Meier, general manager, Hospitality Operations has been with the Centre
since 1977, first starting with the Banff Centre for Management (then called the School of
Management) as a program manager.
Dr. McDonald says the appointments reflect the growing responsibility of their positions:
"Both Bernadette and Norbert are critical to the overall success of The Banff Centre.
They will increasingly be focused on the longer-range and strategic opportunities for The
Banff Centre which stem from their areas."
The appointments are effective Oct. 1, 1999; both Ms. McDonald and Mr. Meier will maintain
their present responsibilities.
