Husky Oil gift fuels The Banff Centres arts programming
(Banff) The Banff Centre is pleased to announce that Husky Oil has made a four-year commitment of $100,000 as presenting sponsor of the annual Banff Midsummer Ball - the Centres widely acclaimed arts fund-raising gala. Last years Midsummer Ball netted $130,000 in support of The Banff Centres scholarship and programming needs for participating artists. In 2000, the financial goal is to raise over $200,000.
"Through their creations, Canadas artists enrich the cultural strength of our country," commented Husky Oil CEO John C.S. Lau. "Husky Oil is proud to assist in developing such invaluable resources."
Husky Oil has been a valued partner of The Banff Centre since 1986 and for the past two years leading sponsor of the Banff Midsummer Ball. "Husky Oils ongoing support of this event ensures that it will continue to be an incredibly successful fundraiser for us," commented Banff Centre president and CEO Dr. Graeme McDonald. "Every year, several artists are assisted by Husky Oil scholarships." Husky Oil has also supported several of the Centres capital campaigns, which have upgraded campus facilities considerably. Husky Oils continued sponsorship of the Banff Midsummer Ball will assist the Centre to attain its ambitious financial goals for the next four years.
In the glorious mountain setting, The Banff Midsummer Ball attracts business and community leaders from across the country who spend a weekend enjoying arts performances and social activities.
