Big Rock Brewery to Serve Up 5th Annual Spring for the Arts
An opportunity to "paint by numbers" with Calgary artist Dean Stanton will be just one of the highlights when The Banff Centre's Spring for the Arts fundraiser returns to the Big Rock Brewery in Calgary on Friday, June 2.
"We will be inviting guests to pick up a paint brush and put their creative touch on a specially designed image created by Stanton," explains Laurie Harvey, Development project manager at The Banff Centre. "Participants will then have a chance to win the painting when they include their name in a draw for the finished piece."
"But thats not all. There will be palm reading and henna tattoos, as well as funky art and adventure-oriented live and silent auction items up for grabs," Harvey adds. "Its going to be a crazy, cool evening. It's sure to be yet another not-to-be missed event."
More than 600 of Calgary's most enthusiastic arts supporters will attend the festive spring social presented by Smed, Eclectibles Folk & Fine Art, and Irene Besse Keyboards. Blues specialist Don Johnson will entertain the crowd while Sorrenti's, Spolumbo's, Wicked Wedge, Peller Estates Wines and Big Rock Brewery will provide the sumptuous food and beverages.
The Banff Centre hopes to raise $35,000 in support of artist scholarships and programming through this event.
Tickets for Spring for the Arts cost $35 in advance and may be purchased at The Banff Centre Calgary office at 116 Eighth Avenue S.W., Suite 200, or by calling (403) 571-1820.
