Banff Centre Recycling Depot Opens

Recycling in Banff just got a little easier, thanks to The Banff Centre. The Centre’s Recycling Depot is now accepting items for recycling. The depot is open to the public. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

The new recycling bins are located by the Physical Facilities compound at the Centre in the parking lot to the left (east) of the covered parkade past the theatres.

The Recycling Depot accepts the following materials:

  • Metal - all metal scrap
  • Glass - clear and colored containers, tumblers and plate glass, no safety or vehicle glass.
  • Office paper.
  • Magazines and glossy paper.
  • Newspaper and inserts.
  • Plastic - containers with screw on lids only, caps removed.
  • Cardboard – flattened.
  • Wood waste - excluding plywood and treated lumber.
  • Plastic pails - food services pails only, handles removed.
  • Paper milk jugs - rinsed and flattened.

The Town of Banff will collect the recyclables on a regular basis.
