For immediate release For the fifth consecutive year, The Banff Centre has been named one of this country’s best workplaces in Canada's Top 100 Employers. Published by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and featured in a special edition of Maclean’s magazine, this annual list identifies organizations that lead their industries in attracting and retaining quality employees. The Banff Centre was selected from over 52,000 Canadian companies and organizations based on factors such as workplace environment, employee benefits, access to training programs, and internal communications. Richard Yerema, author of Canada’s Top 100 Employers confirms that it is unusual for an institution to make the list five years in a row. “The Banff Centre should be proud,” he says. The Banff Centre is the only post-secondary institution in Canada, and one of only 15 Alberta employers, to make the Top 100 list. Banff Centre vice-president and chief financial officer Art Nutt says the Centre is delighted to be recognized as one of the top employers in Canada. “I think this designation is a testament to the calibre of our employees and the Centre’s commitment to providing a supportive work environment in which every employee is inspired to give his or her best. It also speaks to the culture of creativity and innovation that is at the heart of The Banff Centre.” In choosing the finalists, the Mediacorp research team rated how each employer compared to others in its industry. The Top 100 list includes large and small employers from a range of industries, offering very different benefits and working conditions. According to Mediacorp, the common thread linking companies on the list is that each is an industry leader.
