Halifax businessman appointed to The Banff Centre Board of Governors

Philip G. Ponting, Chair of The Board of Governors of The Banff Centre, is pleased to announce the appointment of David G. Fountain of Halifax, N.S., to The Banff Centre Board of Governors.

Mr. Fountain is a private investor and active community volunteer. He is the immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees of the IWK Health Centre Foundation in Halifax, where he continues to serve as a member of the board. Prior to becoming board chair, he was chair of the It’s About Family capital campaign for the IWK Health Centre.

In the past, Mr. Fountain has served as a member of the board of the National Ballet of Canada, a member and chair of the board of Neptune Theatre in Halifax, and as a member of the board and chair of the Nova Scotia International Air Show.

Born in Halifax and raised in Wolfville, N.S., where his father, Sheldon L. Fountain founded and taught at the Fred C. Manning School of Business at Acadia University, David G. Fountain is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
