Alberta Treasury Branches Recognized for Leadership Transformation
Achieving leadership transformation in a large organization is no easy task. It takes resources, dedication, and buy-in from all levels of management. But the results of undertaking this kind of organizational renewal can be extremely rewarding. Because of the enormous dedication it takes to achieve sustainable leadership transformation, The Banff Centre for Management has initiated an award to recognize organizations that achieve this. In recognizing Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB), Larry Hulsmans, senior director of The Banff Centres Core Leadership and Management programs, says "Alberta Treasury Branches commitment to developing leaders at all levels reflects its dedication to improving the culture of the organization." For the past three years, ATB has sent its managers through a variety of skill-enhancing leadership programs at The Banff Centre for Management. "The impact of this development has been an overall increase in the level of leadership within ATB, which has translated into improved customer service, more efficient operation, and a positive shift in the culture of Alberta Treasury Branches." Hulsmans will present the Leadership Excellence Award to the ATBs president and chief executive officer, Paul Haggis, at the ATB offices in Edmonton at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16th. Other 2001 Leadership Excellence winners include the Canadian Diabetes Association and Alberta Agriculture.
The Banff Centre is Canada's only post-secondary institution dedicated to the arts, leadership development, and mountain culture. Programs are designed to enrich professional practice beyond the realm of traditional education. The Centre's unique mountain environment and multidisciplinary setting reflect a commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning.
