Business leaders to receive vocal training as part of new leadership development program

How can business leaders get their voices and corporate messages heard in today’s media dominated world? A group of thought leaders and artists – including vocal coaches - will work with business participants to explore this question during a unique four-day forum presented by Leadership Development at The Banff Centre. The New Story-Makers: Power, Influence and Authenticity in a Media-Dominated World runs September 19-22.

"What’s unique about this forum is that it brings leaders and the arts together," explains organizer Brian Woodward. "The primary challenge facing leaders today is getting their story out in a way that builds trust and commitment. The New Story Makers is offered by the Centre’s Leadership Labä , that was launched last year to explore the connections between the arts, ecology, culture, and the practice of leadership. Two Thought Leader Forums have been held to date including: Leading for Creativity and Innovation (September 2003) that used visual arts as a creative medium for exploration; and Ethical Governance – Creating a Climate of Corporate Integrity (February 2003) using theatre arts as a tool for discovery.
