February 10, 2005 Banff Centre book event showcases leadership and creativity
Mark Bryan has made a career out of helping people boost their creativity at work. Co-developer of the popular course, The Artist’s Way, his book The Artist’s Way at Work merges his theories on creativity with his studies in leadership and motivation. The result has been a unique method for corporate innovation that has been successfully used by clients including AT&T, American Express, Unicef, and the William Morris Agency. On Thursday, February 17, Leadership Development at The Banff Centre hosts Bryan and three other leadership specialists for an evening of readings and book signings at the Banff Book and Art Den. Leading Creatively: Readings and Book Signing will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will feature readings by Mark Bryan, Bastiaan Heemsbergen, and Rick and Lillas Marie Hatala. A faculty member for Leadership Development at The Banff Centre, Heemsbergen is a corporate psychologist, facilitator, and coach. His current work focuses on leadership and innovation in brain research, and his clients have included corporations, small businesses, universities, and governments in Canada, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Rick Hatala is the executive director of Integrative Leadership International, and has had a 25-year career as an engineer, professional speaker, corporate CEO, coach, consultant, and author. His work has focused on assisting with integrating personal, professional, and organizational leadership. His most recent book, Integrative Leadership: Building a Foundation for Personal, Interpersonal and Organizational Success was co-written with his wife, Lillas Marie Hatala. This event is part of Leadership Development at The Banff Centre’s Thought Leader Forum, which brings together business leaders, executives, Banff Centre faculty and alumni. Participants discuss a current leadership topic or issue, facilitated using a variety of artistic media and methods. —30— Media Contact
