Adventure couples are admired from afar for their lifestyles, their shared experiences and their romantic, adrenaline-filled lives. Clearly they must be energetic people to live such charmed lives. But what about the energy between them? Is double the risk in one family equal to double the stress? Is there a competitive edge to these relationships? Can total togetherness be too much — even if it is in the pursuit of adventure? Meet three duos who can tell us.
Kim Czismazia and Will Gadd: Competitive, champion athletes in a number of fields, they manage to train together, compete together, travel together, and — most amazingly — live together!
Pat and Baiba Morrow: The ultimate adventure duo, they’ve been adventuring, writing, filming, and climbing together for over 20 years.
Karsten Heuer and Leanne Allison: They’ve survived some of the longest, toughest treks imaginable, and have even managed to capture their experiences in award-winning films and books.
