Glen Denny climbed the most challenging routes in the Yosemite Valley with many of the big-wall pioneers of the late fifties and early sixties. Published in 2007, Yosemite in the Sixties is an extraordinary book of Denny’s rare black-and-white photographs of Yosemite Valley climbers. Inspired by the work of Ansel Adams, Denny’s images capture the play of light on rock, the spirit of climbing in the sixties, and of climbers in their element. Denny’s writings and photographs have appeared in numerous other publications, including most recently in Alpinist (2007) magazine.
An exhibition of his images will be on display in the Max Bell Building Husky Energy Foyer throughout the festival.
