Remnants of Everest
Film Screening
The Everest tragedy of 1996 resonated far beyond the climbing community. Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air, the IMAX Everest film, and countless other accounts have presented differing views of the deadly storm and the eight lives lost on the world’s highest mountain. In Remnants of Everest: The 1996 Tragedy, director David Breashears revisits the storm’s survivors as they recall their own memories of the tragedy. Through these engaging interviews and recreated scenes from the 1996 storm, the film reminds us of the powerful story that has changed the way the world views Everest.
A portion of ticket sales will go to the International Campaign for Tibet.
