Sid Marty
Sid Marty’s work has been published in periodicals including
Equinox, Canadian Geographic, Reader’s Digest,
Canadian Business, and National Geographic Traveler. In
1999, he won the Banff Mountain Book Festival’s Jon Whyte Award
for Mountain Literature for Switchbacks: True Stories from the
Canadian Rockies. Sky Humor is Sid Marty’s first book
of poems for many years. It’s about raising a family, fixing the
roof, chopping firewood and hunting for grub. It’s also about love
and death — universal poetic preoccupations. His other poetry
books include Headwaters and Nobody Danced with Miss
Rodeo. Sid Marty lives and writes in the foothills of
southwestern Alberta.
