Mike Walton
Mike’s professional experience spans 20 years and
involves: community based economic development, human
resources management, natural resources management and
Aboriginal relations. Mike has been a manager of
economic development for a town in Northern Ontario, the
coordinator of employee involvement and development for
a pulp mill, a business unit leader for Federal and
Aboriginal Relations, as well as a park warden, Chief of
Visitor Activities, Superintendent and Manager of
Ecological and Commemorative Integrity. Mike has had the
privilege of being taught by Elders from across Canada
and has contributed to community healing, development
and growth. Mike lives in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory
with his wife Sylvie, three grown “children”, two dogs,
a cat and tonnes of outdoor stuff that might just be
used one day (again)!
