Justin Brashares
Justin Brashares has studied the behavioral and population
ecology of large mammals in Africa, Australia and North America
since 1990. In his research, Justin uses information gained in the
study of individually identified animals to devise strategies for
the management and conservation of populations and species. Justin
received a Masters in Wildlife Ecology from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison (1997) and a Ph.D. in Applied Conservation
Biology from the University of British Columbia (2001). He is
currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Centre for Biodiversity
Research at the University of British Columbia where he is working
to save the critically endangered Vancouver Island marmot.
