David Welch

David Welch is Parks Canada's physical sciences advisor, currently
dealing with climate change and air quality issues, geological
indicators of rapid environmental change, and federal science
policy development. In the past he has evaluated new remote
sensing and geographic information system technologies for
national park use, conducted geomorphological field work in the
Arctic, and was a professor in geography at the University of
Winnipeg. He has twice been a visiting scientist at research
centres in Australia, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of
Western Ontario.
