Marc Adamus: Forces of Nature

Marc Adamus: Forces of Nature

“I made this rare image shooting into the teeth of 30 mph winds on a very cold late-October evening along the shore of St. Mary Lake, in Montana’s Glacier National Park — a place where it seems the wind never stops. As wave after wave crashed upon the shore, the experience became much more like working by the ocean rather than on a mountain lake. Nearing sunset, a rift appeared in the heavy clouds, sending a beautiful and fleeting burst of golden light onto the lake. Taking full advantage of the wave action, I waited a moment to capture the spectacle just as a wave pounded the headland rocks, completing a very dramatic scene.”
