Gunnar Conrad: Yellowstone Falls
“Yellowstone is one of my favorite places to shoot, partly because it has been shot so much and it challenges me to look harder for interesting images. This image of Yellowstone Falls was actually taken from one of the main overlooks of the Yellowstone Gorge, a place where I'm sure thousands of photos are taken almost every day. Of course, being there at just the right time to catch the light was not only lucky but integral to getting a unique image.”
Gunnar Conrad was born and lives in Durango, Colorado, on the southern edge of the San Juan Mountains, and tries to spend as much time as he can in the mountains, deserts, and on the rivers of the West. He travels extensively, shooting commercial, editorial, and industrial images for US and overseas clients. Recently, he’s also begun focusing on the fine art side of photography and is garnering national and international recognition for his images.
