Jennifer Fisher is currently a visiting scholar/postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Performance Studies at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. She is interested in performativity as it pertains to display culture, and exhibition practice in particular. Between 1986 and 1992 she was assistant editor at Parachute contemporary art magazine. Her Ph.D. dissertation, “Aesthetic Contingencies: Relational Enactments in Display Culture,” was completed in the Humanities program at Concordia University, Montréal, where she teaches courses in art criticism and museum studies. She is co-curating a performance event, Counter-Poses: Re-Imagining Tableaux Vivants which will take place at Oboro in Montréal in 1997. Contributor to: |
