Douglas Kahn is associate professor of media arts at Arizona State University West and author of John Heartfield: Art and Mass Media (1985). He is co-editor of Cultures in Contention (1985) and Wireless Imagination: Sound, Radio and the Avant-Garde (1992) and is on the executive committee of SoundCultures, a Pacific region initiative for the production and discussion of the sound arts.
