Jake Moore is a Winnipeg-based installation artist. She holds a diploma in Furniture Design and construction from the School of Crafts and Design at Sheridan College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction, in sculpture, from Concordia University. Her site-specific installations include Missing Words (1999), Agassiz (1997) and To Sow (1996), all Winnipeg, Manitoba. Moore’s solo exhibitions include The Gift Horse/I Trust You (1994), Ace Art, Winnipeg, and Invisible (1993), VAV Gallery, Montreal. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions including Wild Life, a filed guide to the post natural (July, 2000), Museum for Textiles, Toronto; Sit(e)ings (1999), Winnipeg Art Gallery, Winnipeg; Winnipeg Artists (1998), Muttart Public Art Gallery, Calgary; and Spacial Relations (1993); Overdale Studios, Montreal among others. Her artisitic practice expands to include curatorial projects Portage and Main (1997) and The Social Tool (1996). She has participated as a mentor and program coordinator at the Manitoba Artists for Women’s Art and has served as instuctor and coordinator of depARTures, an inner city arts programme at the Saint Norbert;s Arts and Cultural Centre.
