Stephen Osborne was born in Pangnirtung in 1947, grew up in Edmonton and Kamloops, and now lives in Vancouver. Since 1990 he has been the editor of Geist magazine and has published numerous essays in popular and alternative magazines. His recent book is Ice and Fire: Dispatches from the New World (Arsenal Pulp 1999) and he is now at work on a book to be called For You Who Grow Pale at the Mention of Vancouver: A Novel.
