Linda Svendsen is a fiction writer and screenwriter. Marine Life (HarperCollins 1992), her collection of linked stories, was recently made into a film. "White Shoulders" has been anthologized in Penguin's Best Short Stories by Canadian Women and The Oxford Book of Stories by Canadian Women in English (Oxford University Press 2000). Her stories have been published in Atlantic, Saturday Night, and Prairie Schooner, and she has appeared three times in the O. Henry Awards' Prize Stories (Doubleday & Company) and Best Canadian Stories (Oberon Press), and has won NEA and Canada Council grants. Svendsen also adapted The Diviners and The Sue Rodriguez Story for television. She lives with her family in Vancouver and teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of British Columbia. Contributor to: |
