In 1963 he opened his own workshop in Buenos Aires. In 1977, he emigrated to the USA to work for Jacques Français Inc. Mr. Piñeiro worked for Français for fourteen years and was involved in the restoration of many important and valuable instruments.

Mr. Piñeiro is now well established in his own shop in Jackson Heights, New York, where he is engaged in making new instruments and the restoration of old masters’ works. He has made 140 new instruments (violins, violas, cellos) following the styles of the classical Italian instrument. He has participated in several competitions, receiving recognition for his work.
