Jonathan Woolston
Jonathan Woolston was trained at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating in 1985. He worked for three years in Toronto for George Heinl & Co. before moving to New York to work for Jacques Français Inc. After three years he returned to Cambridge, England, establishing his own workshop and teaching violin making.
Mr. Woolston was a prize-winner at the 1986 VSA Competition and obtained certificates of craftsmanship at the 1992 and 1994 Manchester cello competitions. In 1998 he was invited to exhibit at the Royal Academy Exhibition 400 Years of Violin & Bow Making in the British Isles. He is also illustrated in the BVMA book The British Violin. Mr. Woolston now devotes his time exclusively to violin making and restoration work in Cambridge, UK.
